Julio Cruz is an international trainer and security manager for Global Journalist Security. With nearly 20 years experience, Julio has managed security portfolios for United Nations human rights monitoring, security council and peace-keeping missions in Angola and the Central African Republic, respectively; worked with the U.S. diplomatic security overseas; served as Military Instructor for the joint U.S.-U.N. African Contingency Operation Training Assistance Program in more than 16 African nations; and most recently managed security portfolios for international development organizations. Julio is a U.N. Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments Training Instructor, and a U.N. Security Certified Programme officer. His is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French, and conversant in Turkish. Cruz is an accomplished military and civilian pilot and a graduate of a foreign Air Force Academy. He also completed a Leadership Decision Making Course at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
